SeminarChen Yun’s Party Building Thoughts Held by the National Society for Party

Seminar on Chen Yun’s Party Building Thoughts was held by the National Society for Party Building Studies in Beijing on June 17. Yu Yunyao, President of the National Society for Party Building Studies, delivered a speech titled “Profound Meaning and Significance of Chen Yun’s Party Building Thoughts”, calling for study of the spirit contained in General Secretary Xi’s important remarks at the symposium to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of Chen Yun, the in-depth research of Chen Yun’s Party building thoughts, the implementation of full and vigorous governance over the Party and the improvement of innovation on theories, practice and system of Party building, so as to advance the four-pronged comprehensive strategy and realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

The seminar concluded that General Secretary Xi’s important remarks comprehensively reviewed Chen Yun’s glorious life, profoundly depicted his outstanding achievements and noble characters, charting the course for studying this great figure. Chen’s life was full of glories. To commemorate him, we should learn from his firm belief, strong Party principles, earnest, frugal style and hardworking spirit just as proposed by General Secretary Xi’s important remarks at the symposium to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of Chen Yun, stay firmly committed to our ideals, strengthen our confidence in the path, theories, system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and work hard for success in our own positions so as to unswervingly carry forward the great cause developed by veteran revolutionists.

The seminar also concluded that Chen Yun’s Party building thoughts were an important part of Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory concerning this field. These thoughts, combining Marxism principles on Party building with reality of China and the Party, boosted adaption of the Marxist Party building theory to the Chinese context and were sound summarization of our Party’s past experience in self-improvement. Chen Yun’s Party building thoughts covered various fields, including ideology, organization, conduct, fight against corruption and institutional development, which were and will be a treasure for our Party to strengthen self-improvement.

Wang Qinfeng, Deputy Head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and Vice President of the National Society for Party Building Studies, and Li Jingtian, Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of National People’s Congress and Vice President of the National Society for Party Building Studies respectively presided over the seminar. More than 50 representatives of paper authors coming from local areas (provinces, regions or municipalities) in the country and central state organs attended the meeting.
