On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Chen Yun’s birth, the website titled Chen Yun Studies was officially launched the same day. It is jointly run by the Research Center of Chen Yun and Contemporary China of the Association of National History of the People’s Republic of China and Chen Yun Memorial. Chen Yun was a great proletarian revolutionary, politician, an outstanding Marxist, the founder of China’s socialist economy and a tested, excellent Party and state leader.

The website is guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the four-pronged comprehensive strategy proposed by the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping at the core. It aims at implementing General Secretary Xi’s guidelines on strengthening the study and publicity of the Party’s and the country’s history as well as the spirit of veteran proletarian revolutionists, and making good use of the Internet to maintain positive public opinion. It is designed to promote research and publicity of Chen Yun’s life and thoughts, carry forward his revolutionary spirit and noble characters and provide research data, achievements and related information for researchers.

During the discussion of the Central Leading Group for Deepening Overall Reform on promoting the integrated development of traditional and new media on August 18, 2014, General Secretary Xi emphasized that we should strive for various, sophisticated and competitive mainstream media that are supported by advanced technologies and based on content building.
