Inaugural Meeting of Chen Yun’s LifeThoughts Society

The inaugural meeting of Chen Yun’s Life and Thoughts Society was held in Beijing on June 18. Leng Rong, Director of the CCCPC Party Literature Research Office and President of the China Institute of CPC Literature Research, delivered a congratulatory message at the meeting. About 100 people were present, including leaders from central authorities, and the CCCPC Party Literature Research Office, representatives of Chen Yun’s relatives, former staff worked for Chen and related experts. Chen Yun’s Life and Thoughts Society is a national academic organization specialized in studying and publicizing Chen Yun’s life and thoughts.

Leng Rong said that it is one of the priorities of ideological and theoretical construction in Party building to well study, publicize and preserve Party leaders, as they carried the Party’s fighting history, thoughts and theories as well as traditions. Therefore, the Society shall complete the task with strong sense of political responsibility. By studying and implementing the principles from General Secretary Xi’s important remarks, the Society shall further strengthen and deepen researches on Chen Yun’s achievements and contributions, thoughts and theories and revolutionary spirit grounded on a higher level of understanding. And the Society shall make more contributions to serve the Party integrating the realities of the four-pronged comprehensive strategy with the campaign for the observance of the Three Stricts and Three Earnests.

The attendees thought that General Secretary Xi’s important remarks at the symposium to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of Chen Yun on his achievements and noble characters had a profound meaning for deepening the research and publicity of Chen Yun’s life and thoughts. The founding of Chen Yun’s Life and Thoughts Society was of great significance at the time when all Party members were studying and implementing the guidelines put forward in General Secretary Xi’s important remarks. Because it was a national academic platform on study of Chen Yun’s life and thoughts and consisted of researchers from related institutes, Party Schools, executive leadership academies, universities and Chen Yun Memorial sites, which would further advance and deepen the research and publicity of Chen Yun’s achievements, thoughts and theories and noble characters.
