A white marble statue stands in front of the lobby, depicting Chen Yun’s image when he worked for creating the socialist economy during the 1950s-1960s. The statue takes bamboo shoots as the background, which symbolizes the flourishing development of the cause initiated by the predecessors of proletarian revolution. On the two sides of the statue is Chen Yun’s favorite bamboo, which symbolizes the exemplary conduct and nobility of character of the great man.
On the two sides of the lobby, there are two oil paintings of the first and second generations of central collective leadership. One painting describes Chen Yun, was with the first generation (Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, and Deng Xiaoping) at a meeting of 7,000 people and the other features Chen Yun, stayed with the second generation (Deng Xiaoping, Ye Jianying, and Li Xiannian).
