Preface

People in Qingpu Town have upheld justice and dared to fight since ancient times. Numerous dedicated patriots in Qingpu Town fought dauntlessly and sacrificed heroically for national independence, people’s liberation and the founding of the People’s Republic of China in the period of democratic revolution; during the periods of socialist revolution, construction and reform, they struggled unremittingly and courageously for national prosperity, rejuvenation and people’s well-being. These revolutionary pioneers are the pride of the Chinese nation and their great achievements will always be engraved upon the hearts of hundred millions of the Chinese people.

As the Chinese poem says, “Sacrifice for the sufferings of the country and face death with unflinching determination”. We honor these heroes and martyrs to learn valuable qualities of great passion for the Communist Party of China, for the country and for the people; we seek to carry forward their spirit of firm belief, regretless sacrifice and persistent dedication; we desire to inherit their morality and integrity that neither poverty nor humbleness could swerve them from the principle, neither riches nor honors could corrupt them, and neither threats nor forces could surrender them; we strive for an ecological friendly and livable Qingpu Town with the new look of socialist modernization as well as for realizing the Chinese deam of national rejuvenation.
