Part II Dauntless Fight for Liberation

Part II Dauntless Fight for Liberation

The Communist Party of China (CPC) came into being in July, 1921, marking a new era of China. As excellent representatives of people in Qingpu, Gao Ersong, Chen Yun, Wu Zhixi and other young people with lofty ideals were proactive in knowing and accepting the ideology of communism and joined the Party one after another. Afterwards, they set up the Qingpu Association for Youth in Shanghai, the independent Party branch and the Party committee of Qingpu County. Under the leadership of the CPC, they called upon peasants to stage armed uprisings in Xiaozheng Township and Fengjing Town of Shanghai, developed counter-Japanese armed forces and resistance bases, and mobilized the masses to conduct armed struggles against unreasonable conscription, grain levies and taxation as well as armed fights for safeguarding factories, schools and grains. People in Qingpu finally embraced their liberation after 28 years of bloody battles.
