Part III New Skies for the Sun and Moon to Shine

In the new period of socialist revolution, construction and reform and opening-up, the brave Qingpu people with lofty aspirations dared to make the sun and moon shine in new skies. They provided support in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea and the Sino-Vietnamese War. In these struggles, they displayed the great spirit of internationalism and sacrificed dauntlessly to safeguard China’s sacred territory and national dignity. When needed by the Party and the people in crucial moments, the people in Qingpu selflessly safeguarded China’s national interests as well as Chinese people’s life and property security at the price of their own lives.
