Part II   The Period of Socialist Revolution and Construction (1949-1976)

The founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949 opened a new chapter of China’s history, and from then on, the CPC has been shouldering the historic mission of its governance in China. The first generation of central collective leadership with Mao Zedong at the core conducted a series of fights against bureaucracy and corruption while leading Chinese people for socialist revolution and construction. In this way, the CPC has preserved its political character, consolidated the people’s government and boosted the progress of socialism.
