Part III The Period of Reform and Opening up and Socialist Modernization (1978-now)

The 3rd Plenary Session of the 11th Central CPC Committee in 1978 marked the beginning of a new era of development in socialism in China. Following restoration of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and commissions for discipline inspection at all levels, the CPC stepped up its efforts in improving conduct, building integrity and combating corruption, and in strengthening its ability to resist corruption, prevent moral decline and withstand risks. All these efforts contributed to the initial success in finding out a new way to effectively combat corruption and promote integrity under the conditions of reform and opening-up as well as market economy.

With the history of combating corruption and promoting integrity, the CPC gives an eloquent proof that anti-corruption is of vital importance and that the Party will never co-exist with corruption at any time. Looking back, 90 years of trials and hardships have achieved good results; looking forward, there is a long way to go to maintain ethical conduct and moral integrity at all times. However, it is firmly believed that so long as the Party works continuously to combat corruption and promote integrity under new conditions, and every Party member bears in mind their purpose and keeps alert, our Party will surely be promised with everlasting prosperity and success, and the Chinese nation will surely realize its rejuvenation and proudly take its place among the nations of the world.
